Balloon pilots prepare to take off during the Fifth Annual Grand Valley. Balloon Rally early Saturday morning. Another mass ascent is planned for a 7 am. Sunday morning at Orchard Mesa Junior High School. The rally is sponsored by the Monument Lioness Club and is free to the public.This is a black and white photograph picturing the balloon rally. There are seven balloons some inflated and some deflated in a large grass field with several people scattered throughout. The balloons all had different patterns some with stripes, some with stars, and some with geometric designs.
