Mrs. Julia A. (Aldrich) Wilson was born October 10, 1877, in Gilson, Illinois. After attending primary school and graduating from Knox College Conservatory of Music in Galesburg, IL, she moved to join family near Meeker, Colorado. She married John F. Wilson, a cattleman, in Meeker in 1902. Following his death in 1917, she moved to Grand Junction, CO, where she was a resident until her passing in 1968. Prior to moving to Colorado, Julia taught violin lessons in Illinois. She continued to teach in Grand Junction. She taught the Wednesday Music Club and was director of music at the First Congregational Church. She occasionally participated as a musician in community performances. She was a member of the Republican Women's Club, Monday Study Club, and Chapter N, PEO.
