Paul Perry Tracy was born January 13, 1876, in Columbus, Ohio. He married Marguerite Hamblin in 1901. They lived in Denver, Colorado, before moving to Grand Junction in 1912. He is considered to be a pioneer fruit grower in Orchard Mesa, winning many blue ribbons at early day county fairs. He was instrumental in the growth of the Orchard Mesa community, organizing the Orchard Mesa Community Club and serving as president for many years. He lived in Orchard Mesa from 1912 - 1943, when his health forced him to retire. In his retirement, he found great joy in caring for his flower garden. He passed from a heart attack in 1945. Tracy was a member of the Presbyterian church, the Masonic lodge, and was a patron of the Grand Junction chapter of O. E. S., and was president of the local musician's union. He was very interested in music, playing cello as an occupation during his time in Denver. He and his wife played for local audiences for many years.
