Charles Shattuc Shryock was born August 29, 1896, in Zanesville, Ohio. He was drafted in WWI, serving in 1917-1918. In 1925, he married Marion Bonney in Buena Vista, CO, and they made their home in Grand Junction, CO, for a time while he worked for the Public Service company here. He was a member of the Grand Junction Lion's Club. The family then moved to Pasadena, California, in 1934, where he worked for the Columbia Steel corporation. Shryock passed away in 1970 in California.
