Jack Murray was born in California in 1957. His love of painting started with his mother who taught him to paint "en plein aire" scenes of the California coast. He moved to Colorado and developed his style attending workshops by Colorado artist Kim English and California's Ken Auster. Murray painted two sets of historical paintings for the Museums of Western Colorado, about Alferd Packer and Little Bookcliff railway series. Mr. Murray currently lives in Kauai, Hawaii, and is a member of the Kauai Society of Artists and the Plein Air Painters of Hawaii.
