David Hal Morris was born on Sept. 27, 1917, in New York City. After high school, Mr. Morris attended the Art Institute in Chicago and studied watercolor painting with Francis Shook. He has exhibited in many juried shows and his artistic specialty were watercolor paintings of landscapes, historic steam railroads, and early riverboats. Morris was accepted into the prestigious Society of Steam Artists of America and the Sedona Art Guild. He was invited by the Museum of Science and Industry of Chicago to exhibit his work at their railroad historical exhibition. David Morris worked closely with the model railroaders at the Museums of Western Colorado's Cross Orchards Historic Site, and has had his art on exhibition at the Museum of the West.
