Accused and acquitted murderer of Sam McMullin in 1946. Born in Kansas, USA on 18 Aug 1885 to Duayne S Maxson and Nancy Jane Moore. Roy Lyle Maxson married Clara J Hickox and had 2 children. He passed away on 7 Dec 1972 in Grand Junction, Mesa, Colorado, USA. He was the alleged "long-time boyfriend" to Mazie Lightfoot, the widow of Sam McMullin. Roy’s trial started on Oct. 23, 1947, before a jury of nine men, three women, and one male alternate. Maxson had admitted After two-weeks, he was found not guilty because of lack of evidence placing him at the scene, and because of double jeopardy, he could not be tried again.
