Local businessman and benefactor of the Cameron Hose Company, paying $100 for suits and equipment in 1889. Cameron never became a member or participated in fire fighting. In 1891, the Grand Junction City Council agreed to furnish uniforms for the Hose Company. As a result, Cameron was refunded his $100 and the company's name was changed to the Grand Junction Hose Company No. 1.
