About
Dr. Raymond Taylor Eddy was born July 20, 1912, in Marietta, Ohio, to Nathan and Virginia Eddy. According to census records, the family lived in Williams, West Virginia, in 1920, then in Grand Junction, Colorado, in 1930. He graduated with a B.A. degree from the University of Denver, a master of arts degree from UC Berkeley, and a doctorate at UCLA. Eddy married Dorothy Coltman in Denver, CO, in 1941. Eddy served in the US Army during WWII as first lieutenant in the 286th Air Service Group.  During his time in Grand Junction, Eddy taught at Grand Junction High School and was principal of Lowell Elementary School. Eddy retired in 1978 as coordinator from the research and development division of Tacoma City Schools. He formerly worked for the McGraw-Hill California Test Bureau, UCLA Supervisor of Special Services, and California Rehabilitation Counselor. He was an elder and choir member of the University Place Presbyterian Church in Tacoma. Eddy passed away in Tacoma, Washington, in 1992.
