First National Bank

About
"Architect John Lumsden designed the neo-gothic First National Bank building that once sat at the northwest corner of Main Street and 5th Street in downtown Grand Junction. Not much later, the Grand Valley National Bank occupied the building. It was built of brick and native sandstone, but this area’s low water table, alkali soil, and the building’s basement all conspired to weaken the building’s foundation, and it had to be demolished early in the last century. Its replacement remains standing, and, with some remodeling to widen its face, has been the Dalby Wendland building for several decades. (A not-dissimilar bank building, also designed by Lumsden, is still in use in Delta.) This photo of the building was taken in 1900." https://www.facebook.com/HistoricalFruitaPhotos/photos/a.237854233309476/269148333513399/?type=3&theater
