Fair Building

About
The Fair Store, would become the first and largest department store in the town. The Fair Building had the first elevator in the city and was known for its quality merchandise and service. It's address is: 501 Main Street, Grand Junction CO 81501, United States of America.
"In 1890 William Moyer came to Grand Junction where he opened the first Fair Store, which measured only 12x20 feet [and was across the street from its current location]. Within a few years, the store outgrew that small space, and in December 1905 he opened a larger Fair Store on the southeast corner of Fifth and Main Street, stocking it with quality merchandise. The basement had dishes and hardware; the first floor was stocked with dry goods, women and men’s clothing, notions, millinery, embroidery and laces. The mezzanine housed women’s dresses, a waiting room and a beauty parlor." http://www.historic7thstreet.org/remembering/pdfs6/moyer.pdf
