Description
Basket Coiled,2 Handles, Vessel And Container. Coiled basket with handles and pinecone decoration. The basket is most likely coiled with pine tree needles and threaded with raffia. The basket has a wide rounded bottom and the pinecone is stitched onto the neck atop a branch. The handles are curved L-shapes and wrapped in the raffia. There is evidence of sap used as glue. The basket coils are dark tan in color and the thread is olive green/brown. The attached handle is completely wrapped in the thread. The other handle is only attached at the top of the basket and is missing threading in two places. Gifted by A.H. Gould 2/15/1977.
