Description
Large coiled basket-tray with black flower design. A typed label inside of the basket read "California Mission Basket." A note in the accession file suggests the basket is not from a California Mission Native American tribe. The basket design is colored in red and dark blue/black shades. The design is a four-petaled flower at the center with an open circle directly in the bottom. The flower has some rectangles projecting from the points in between petals towards the rim. In line with the longest points of the petals, there are four open triangles pointing towards the center with green tips. There is a faint red outline connecting the petals to these triangles. The basket's rim is finished in a fishtail weave.
