Description
YMCA building and animal fountain, just after the railing blew off, September 23, 1913. The railing blew off on September 22, 1913, following a massive windstorm of 60mph. A student at the Lowell School on the other side of 5th street named Alfred Read Gallup was injured by the debris and passed away 4 days later. The railings were removed permanently after this incident.
