Description
Town's first school: Described as a picket structure, the building was made of logs put end up in a trench and secured together at the top by cross pieces. Both the roof and floor were dirt. The foundation of this building was softened by water from a nearby ditch. The poles spread and roof caved in on Sunday morning before it was to serve its other use as the town's first Sunday school. 1880-1882.
