Description
Male great spangled fritillary (Argynnis cybele) - a species of butterfly - specimen, pressed inside of an almost flat, rectangular, plastic container. There is a raised "bubble" in the center of the plastic that houses the body of the specimen.

Original label identifies the specimen as "[Male Argynnis Cylebe" - almost certainly a typo - and notes that it was collected in McGraw, New York. The underside of the specimen is tan with dark brown, medium brown, black, and metallic-silver details. The opposite side is orange with dark brown details.
