Description
Beaded Velvet Pouch. The pouch is made of brown velvet with fabric edging and a fabric strap. It is lined in a brown finely woven burlap type of fabric. The pouch has two flaps hanging on either side of the mouth. The beadwork on the outside is multicolored, with large white beads around the edges of the flaps. The body has two white outlines around the edge, and then a series of perpendicular lines of half blue and then white beading. In the center of this design, there are multicolored flowers. The flap features almost the same design, only smaller. The edge of the bag has red fabric and visible stitching. Woodland, 1880s.
