Description
Beaded Crow Knife Sheath. Old design adopted from quill work. Peyote bead edging. The top has two alternating designs. The first design is a white rectangle bordered with dark blue on the top and bottom. Inside the rectangle, there is a red rectangle, and inside this rectangle there is a green cross. The next pattern is a mustard yellow rectangle meeting the dark blue bottom border of the first design. The yellow cross in the center is differentiated from the rest of the rectangle by a blue rectangle around it, which looks like two 'c' shapes with openings meeting in the center. The bottom design matches the first. At the very bottom, where the knife's tip would be, there are 5 vertical stripes in red, yellow, dark blue, yellow, and red. The knife's edge side of the sheath is beaded in clear red beads. The mouth of the sheath is beaded in white. There are two ties at the top of the sheath, the top one has two brassy beads. There are lines of red and white beading alternating at the top of the sheath near the mouth. At the knife's tip point of the sheath, there are two rows of four tassels.
