Description
1945 Ford 2n Tractor, Gasoline Powered, 4 Cylinder Engine With Three Speed Transmission In May Of 2020, The Ford 2n Was Inspected For The Possibility Of An Operational Restoration. After Initial Tests Were Proved Positive Work Commenced On Making The Tractor Run Again. The Engine, Transmission, Clutch, And Differential Were All Found To Be In Good Working Order, Despite Their Advanced Age. Steve Pittenger Offered To Donate His Automotive Restoration Skills In Sand Blasting And Repainting The Hood, Seat, Fenders, And Air Filter Assembly. When The Seat Was Removed From The Tractor It Was Found The Original Dark Grey Paint Was Intact On The Underside. This Was Used At A Local Paint Shop To Mix The Correct Color Paint. Ford 9n And 2n Tractors Were Painted Dark Grey. The Carburetor Was Dismantled By Wayne Darling And Inspected And Found To Be In Great Operating Condition. The Ignition System Was Inspected And Found To Be Operating Correctly. Early Test Runs Were Extremely Successful. On August 29th, The Tractor Made Its First Official Run Hauling A Flat Car With Two Riders.
