Description
Paiute Wedding Basket. Coiled basket with fishtail woven rim. The basket has a traditional wedding pattern, with a white star in the center and a reddish band around it with black triangles on the inside pointing towards the white star, filling in the space between the white points, and black triangles along the outside edge of the red band pointing towards the rim of the basket. The 'spirit release' extends from the white star to the outside of the basket, outlined in black where it breaks the red band.
