Plaque, Coiled Wicker. Hopi Polychrome wicker plaque from Second Mesa. The design is a solid green center with a woven bridge through the center, four rows wide. The center is surrounded by a black ring with white squares approximately 1 cm apart. The design continues outward with alternating orange and blue vertical stripes opposite each other, 11 rows wide each. Between the two orange and blue side, the design extends higher in a pattern that resembles a turkey tail. With orange, brown, green/teal, yellow, and a light brown (listed from outside in) separated by black stripes. The rest of the weave is a light straw color. The edge is bordered in orange and green alternating with a black outline on either side. The edge is finished in a coiled black reed.
