a. Letter on blue unlined stationery paper, front and back. Written in blue ink. Dated May 16, 1924. Rock Springs, WY. Letter to Mary Maddux Greenley (Casper, WY) from Ralph Maddux (Greystone, CO).

"Rock Springs Wyo. May 16-24 Dear Mary it is impossible for me to come your way now as I have to prove up on my place next Nov. and it will take more money than I have to do it I am going home tomorrow and try to stay till the 1st of Dec when I will be broke and it det again if you don't move too far I may see you and the family next winter and if you do move you can spend a week with me on your way have you any trees grass or is it all hot dry wind and glare I am in the hot glare now but if old Ford is willing I will be in the June timber tomorrow You might let Ansel batch a little while if he can't come along as I would like to have a house keeper part of the time I am sure leaving a lonely job behind now by by from Ralph at Greystone". 

b. Envelope made from white paper. Postmarked Rock Springs, WY, May 19, 1924, 4 pm. Sent to Mrs. A. R. Greenley (Mary Maddux), 935 St. Mary's Street, Casper, Wyo. Sent from "Ralph Maddux Greystone Colo.". 

Ralph Maddux is brother to Mary Maddux Greenley.
