"Dear Mary- I really don't know who's turn to write, but I'll write anyway. It has been ages since I heard from you. We are both pretty well, Laurence is busy as a bee working for Mr. Darling. They are fixing the mill and getting it in running condition. He built a small house down at the mill for us to live in it surely is a cute little home. We just have two rooms with the exception of a pantry and closet. It of course isn't so very fine but we don't have to pay rent and we are out of town, but just a little ways we barely live across the city limits on North Cascade. Mother and Elsie was down to see us the last of last month and the first of this. I surely did enjoy their visit, because it was the first time I had seen them since November. We are looking for papa and my brother down as soon as the weather clears up at all. March surely has been a stormy month here so far I don't believe we have mad more than two or three good days so far this month. It never snows enough to lay very long up enough to make plenty".
