Description
Ute water jug owned by George Corn (1870-1961). Corn grew up in Montrose and was friends with the local Ute children in his youth. The jug is coiled, potentially made of Squawbush. The jug has two braided handles, the first consisting of four braids, and the second consisting of one, although it appears the handle made of one braid is missing at least two braids. The jug is sealed with a dark brown sap in between the gaps in the weave. The rim is tightly coiled in a spiral stitch. The jug is tall with a wide rounded base and a thinner neck.
