Teec Nos Pos pattern rug in raised outline by Marlene Nez (American [Navajo]), c. 2003, hand-woven of machine spun yarns with commercial dyes, 48" x 31". The complex pattern includes a rectangular taupe meander containing a stepped cross at center surrounded by four multicolor serrated diamonds. Each end contains a band of multicolor decoration made up of a cross containing serrated diamonds flanked by diamonds and chevrons connected with short lines.Content Date:
