Description
Red slip on buff etched jar by Wilma Baca-Tosa (American [Jemez, Pueblo]), c. 2012, coil built with native clays, 6" x 7.5". Jar has a polished red slip finish over a buff clay body; the design was created by carving through the red slip to expose the buff clay and consists of stepped triangles at the rim above a band of stepped diamonds and a diaper pattern field below. The latter two being interrupted by a diagonal band of stepped triangles.
