Description
This Black and White Postcard depicts a woman holding a tray of bread for children. The children appear to be staged to resemble homeless people, "hobos". One of the young girls a bottle can be seen peeking out of her pocket. Two of the children can be seen holding bedrolls. They are each reaching for bread. On the back of the card the following has been written in pencil, "(Loffar Wash?), July 30- 10," "Dear Howard- just see all the little hobos that are asking for bread- wish you were here too. Love to you from all, May", below the space for Name and Address, "Mr. Howard Owens, Fruita, Colo" is written as well. In the top right of the card, there is a stamp with Benjamin Franklin's likeness.
