Postcard of the Giant Monoliths in Monument canon, in the Colorado National Monument.Back of postcard reads: Colorado National Monument, exhibiting the most magnificent examples of erosion is considered the rarest of the thirty or more National Monuments. Its greatest features are found in Monument Canon, about 8 miles west of Grand Junction. This Canon reaches back for several miles and is accessible only by trail. It is dotted by hundreds of sand stone Monoliths, some hundreds of feet high strikingly colored in red and pink.
