Description
Palisade Hotel. This hotel was built by S.L. Purdy who came to Grand Valley in 1881 and homesteaded Purdy Mesa. Mr. Purdy is the gentleman standing on the porch, hands on hips. This photo features the later addition to the hotel, including the veranda which was build in 1903. A fire in 1905 damaged the hotel, though there is not evidence of that in this photo. This likely places this photo between 1903 and 1905.
