Description
39 Images of Soupeaters Christmas Party - circa 1920. Al Look, who wrote "On Guard for The Daily Sentinel, collected old unwanted toys, Grand Junction firemen repaired them and the toys were then given to less fortunate children at a free show at the Avalon Theatre. Around 1,500 children got toys. There are 23 photos in this files No. 39 through 62. Photoswere by Frank Dean.
This is a black and white photograph picturing a family with a mother with her seven children. The mother is wearing a dark jacket and dress with a hat, and the child standing in front of her is a young boy wearing a dark jacket and shoes as well. On the far left a young boy wearing a hat, dark pants and a dark jacket holding a toy plane. The girl standing next to him is also wearing a dark jacket and dress, and is holding a toy as well. An older girl standing behind the two is wearing a lighter jacket, and has dark hair cut in a bob. The youngest child stands in front of her wearing a dark hat and jacket, and is sitting on a tricycle. The last two children, a boy and a girl are both wearing dark jackets and the boy is holding a unidentified toy, and the girl is holding a book.
