Description
Object is a calf length, black overcoat with a shawl neckline. Coat possibly made from cotton grosgrain fabric, lined with unknown fabric. Lining is made from thinner fabric, white in color with black candelabra and floral motifs, fabric has yellowed with age. Lining is not attacked along bottom edge. Front of coat features a pocket on each side. Three quarter lengths sleeves with single button cuffs. Button is sewn in place, silver in color, possibly plastic, with 7 empty spots where a stone or jewel may have once been. Back of coat features black band 1 1/2" wide, bottom seam of band is unattached to coat, goes from each underarm.
