Print of an original watercolor painting, "Hell's Gate." This Colorado Midland train is st "Hell's Gate," located on a high pass near Basalt.One day a fireman having just left the tender with a scoop full of coal for the fire box, glanced back and found the tender had disappeared. It had plummeted over the side of the mountain. From then on, the fireman would only work the flatland routes.
