Kodalite IV Flasholder

Historical artifact -- camera equipment

Identifier:
1984.83.2
Description
Flash holder is made out of a brown molded plastic and a chrome colored plastic. It's purpose is just what it's name implies, to hold the flash bulb. It has a long brown stem which serves a dual purpose - to hold the instrument to the camera and to elevate the flash so that it adequately lights the surrounding area. The chrome colored part centers the direction of the light. It is shaped like a cup and the light can only go in one direction. The bottom of the stem has studs which protrude from the stem of the holder and fit into the camera. On the bottom of the flash bulb it has "Flash Distances for Simple Cameras" "Kodak Films....", "5 or 25 Lamp...", "m-2 Lamp in 3" Reflector...". It has Kodalite IV in red.
