Palisade Public Library Collection ➔ Photograph of Dave Winger's Home

Photograph -- Black-and-White Photograph

Identifier:
1979.23.91
Description
Photograph of a one-story residential house, identified as the home of Dave Winger, located south of Bridges Switch near Palisade, CO. The home features a bay window at the front, a porch decorated with columns, and a fireplace. Several young trees had been planted to line a dirt driveway, leading back to a barn behind the house. The ground is covered in snow, so the photo was likely taken in winter.

Dave Winger was a resident of Palisade, CO, from 1896 until 1927. He was construction engineer on many projects in the Grand Valley. The Winger family owned and operated the Winger coal mine.

Attached to the bottom of the photograph is a piece of paper with the following typed caption: "Dave Winger's home, So. of Bridges Switch". A very similar description is also written in blue pen on the back of the photo, it reads, "Dave Wingers / home. South of Bridges / Switch".
