Palisade Public Library Collection ➔ Photo of the First Palisade Depot

Photograph -- Black-and-White Photograph

Identifier:
1979.23.90
Description
Photograph of the Palisade Depot in Palisade, CO. Train tracks run in front of the building. Three women, two men, and a young girl stand in front of the building looking at the camera. The names of the people are identified on the back of the photo, but they are mostly illegible. Covered loading docks are visible on both sides of the building. Parcels litter the walkway where the people are standing.

Palisade's first depot was originally located on the south side of the railroad tracks near Kluge Avenue in Palisade, CO. It was then moved to the north side of the tracks and used as a residence. It became the United Fruit Growers' Association offices for many years, and is now part of Peach Street Distillery.

Written on the back of the photo in pencil are the names of the people in the photo: "Mr [illegible] / Mr [illegible] / Mrs [illegible] / [illegible] / Addie [illegible] / at Palisade Depot".
