Description
Snapshot photograph of four men, all are looking at the camera but seem to be caught in the midst of a conversation. The names of the men have been identified by the printed caption on the back of the photo and by the typed caption affixed to the front. One man, Mr. F. E. Port, is on the near side of the fence standing. On the far side of the fence another man, Mr. Reeder, is riding a donkey, which is being led by a third man, Mr. Kluge. A fourth man, Lige Jordon, stands behind and to the left of the two men with the donkey. The group is standing in what appears to be a deciduous forest divided by a barbed wire fence.

A piece of paper attached to the front of the photograph has the following caption: "L to R / Lige Jordon-Mr Reeder,on donkey-Mr Kluge- Mr F E Port".

Printed on the back of the photograph is a map of the Midland Trail, which extends from Glenwood Springs, through Newcastle, Rifle, Grand Valley, De Beque, and Atwell Bridge, before ending in Palisade, CO. The following printed message accompanies the map: "Compliments of Palisade Garage Palisade, Colo. On Midland Trail.". Written on the back of the photograph in the top left corner in blue ink is the message, "Lige Jordan / Mr. Reader (on donkey) / Mr. Kluge / Mr. F. E. Port", which serves to identify the subjects of the photograph on the other side.
