Description
Black and white photograph printed on a postcard depicting the New Bridge, made of steel with wood plank roadbed, crossing the Colorado River (historically known as the Grand River) in Palisade, CO. A horse-drawn wagon driven by an unidentified man and two horses crosses the bridge, as well as three unidentified pedestrians. The steel bridge, located at the east end of 4th Street, replaced the swinging bridge that was formerly there. Unidentified buildings and mountains are visible in the background behind the bridge and river.

Etched into the bottom margin of the photo is the message, "Grand River and the New Bridge, Palisade, Colo.". Attached to the top right corner of the photograph is a piece of paper with the typed caption, "First steel bridge, at E.end of 4th St. / Replaced swinging bridge".
