Made by E.G. Lamson & Co in Windsor, Vermont, and marked Balls Pat. June 23, 1863 and March 15, 1864, this .50 caliber rim fire weapon fired a magazine load of seven shots by operation of the trigger guard lever.
Often classed as a Civil War weapon, it did not obtain government approval until 1864, and was not delivered until May of 1865, after the end of the war. Only 1,000 repeating carbines were produced by the Lamson Company.
